Some stories you just have to live in Africa to here them, One of Kenya s president Uhuru Kenyatta's vehicle was stolen on wednesday night. The presidents driver David Machui was Heading to Ruai when he was attacked by three gunmen with loaded guns who ordered him out of the armored BMW 5 series which is the official backup car in President Uhuru’s motorcade, its said the windows were down thus making the gunmen s work easier.

The gunmen stripped Machui naked before vanishing with the vehicle, word from the state house is that its true the vehicle was stolen but denied it was on the presidents fleet of cars to Mombasa

One wonders who has so much guts to commit such offense! Its not the first time that has happened in Kenya as one of former presidents Moi Vehicle was stolen only to be found years later. This incidences raises question marks on the security of highly ranked government officials

The hunt for the vehicle and the gunmen is still on

TALKING POINTS AS SANCHEZ SAILS ARSENAL TO GROUP STAGES

per vying for the ball in a fears encounter

The gunners yesterday night qualified for the UEFA Champions league group stage beating Besiktas 1-0 At the Emirates stadium,it was a highly contested encounter that  saw their Most expensive summer signing Alexis Sanchez score the only goal of the match,Mesut Ozil set him up after a wonderful work in the box by England international jack wilshere.

wilshere drives the ball inches away

wilshere  drove the ball wide in the opening stages of the encounter, sanchez had put the pressure on Besiktas defender gaining the ball in the process before releasing Wilshere, Carzola also came close after he tried a volley to an empty net after the industrious sanchez had snatched the ball from goalkeeper.
Demba Ba Again was handful for the gunners as he Marshaled the gunners right from Midfield, Ba came close to joining Arsenal last summer before Morinho the Chelsea boss stopped the process after Arsenal acquired Mesut Ozil.

Ba again in the thick of things

One stage of the match carzola won the ball at the edge of the box, and it was a sight that Arsenal faithful wanted to see as the two most expensive  club signing Alexis and Ozil were behind the ball, sanchez got the nod as he chipped the ball past the wall only to land safely into Zengin hands
sanchez curls the ball over the wall

major talking points

1. Sanchez is settling in and he was a joy to watch, his energy, constant threat and winning the ball back were amazing, he was the most industrious player int the field, his work rate was second to non,he just has to work only on his positioning and he will be good to go
sanchez swings the leg to score  his first arsenal goal

2.Wilshere was brilliant in the night carrying the ball forward with a lot of pace and his energy was just immense, there was time he ran thought the entire Besiktas midfield from his half to their half reminding us of what he is capable of doing and the wilshere we envisaged few years back when he was coming through the ranks but again his tackles were scary and one time everyone thought he had brought down Motta down in the penalty box, he has to work on his shooting and scoring Also because that is where Ramsey edges a head of him.
WILLPOWER

3.Carzola is a fighter, the way he won the ball was unbelievable for his size, he kept on fighting and the manager noticed that allowing him to finish the game,he knew he would be of big help when they were defending the soul goal, the critics who said he can't defend bet are eating their own words

4.Mesut Ozil was average but we completely understand because he was subjected to be a winger, which restricts him to detect the game as he usually prefers, Carzola was effective when deployed in the whole where ozil thrives best, its a tricky situation for the manager, but we know le prof will solve
Mesut Ozil in Action verses Besiktas

5.Boss koscienly and Mertasacker pairing at the back was solid and it was instrumental to keeping the clean sheet and it is nice to arsenal faithful seeing that there first choices defensive pairing are still solid, though a defender needs to be brought in in case of an injury to either.

BA misses the ball by inches in the dying minutes

6.Debuchy was again brilliant and made very brilliant saves at the back, he was unlucky to be send off even after he clearly got the ball, one can understand why he was furious to the referee when he was send off and even after the match.
Debuchy given matching orders

7.Chambers can make one imagining of increasing the number of players to be 12 in the pitch because actually he is not a bench material, the way he measured his runs either to go forward or remain was unbelievable for a 19 year old, arsene wenger can be congratulated for this signing and what a player England has got on their hands
8. The referee was ridiculous with some calls he made, he denied Besiktas a penalty in the first half and the sending off of Debuchy was unprofessional.

Debuchy demands for Answers from the referee

Its good to see sanchez start scoring and bedding in well with others, he is a proven goals scorer and it only a matter of time before he stats banging braces and ha-tricks, will he lead Arsenal to major triumph this season?

sanchez celebrate with wilshere his first Arsenal goal
sanchez misses his 2nd by inches
Arsene wenger knew a single Besiktas goal was enough to throw his side out  of the competition, one can guess how nervous he was seeing his side not adding a goal to kill the game, the four minutes added seemed like a whole hour, The gunners fans know what am talking about..

sigh of relief as gunners sail through
In the end the gunners secured champions league group berth for 17 years in a row and that alone is a great achievement for a manager that had restricted finance and a lot of debts to pay for the new emirates stadium.

Ba consoled by Per

A fears encounter but the gunners came out with the last laugh, now all eyes will be in monaco today to see which teams will be which groups. Marshall Talks: Sports will be keeping you upto date with the event
wilshere tricks sees Ba smile again
Till then, Enjoy your day, Got some HTML and java script practicals in the afternoon to do, rushing now to do  some polishing,

The winger signed a five year contract and is expected to make his debut against Burnley on Saturday, with his vast experience he is expected to bring lots of pace down the left, his vision and never tiring nature will be a massive boost to United who are aiming to get back to Top 4 and eventually win something this year.

MUSO ELECTIONS DOWN TO THE WIRE

The whistles and trumpet finally came to an end on Saturday morning when A new King in the compound was announced: Geoffrey Omondi won the hotly contested race for the MUSO chair, that had involved exchange of stones between his supporters and that of his key rival Bwalei. The counting process went on peacefully till the morning when the final tally was done, it was a good gester to witness the losers conceded defeat and the winners promise to fulfill their promises.

The campaign session was marred with tribal politics where by supporters of different candidates  had been subdivided along ethnic background, majorly between our brothers from the Lake shows: The luos and those the host from here the motherland: Kalenjins where the campus is situated. It was this division that led to the fears encounters of stones that we had witnessed the previous  day prior to Election day, some students were injured in the process and they heard to be rushed to Moi Teaching and referral hospital in town.

The reason for the 'majority' losing this time is because they presented lot of candidates that divided the votes, the two major ones were Bwalei and his Counter part Cheserem, and this way ensured that the Omondi camp that stayed as a single block had to win, its said some candidates stepped down in favor of him.

Arsenal: Champions league 1ST leg.

The champions league action was here with us yesterday evening and it was an opportunity for the remaining teams that hadn’t qualified to book their places in the group stages through elimination round that encompasses a home and a way fixtures, various teams across Europe were competing for the few remaining dockets to wi n the big ears trophy.

At the Artuk stadium Arsenal was away to Besiktas and what a mouth watering encounter it was? The balls is at the center and one leg on it was the big number 9 once an arsenal target Demba Ba, it took a slightest touch from..  and the it was Ba chance to let  the volley fly right away from the center  to the goal had it not been the sharp concentration of arsenal stopper sczscesny, it would have gone down the records as the fastest goal in the history of football.

Demba Ba continued to be a thorn in the flesh of arsenal defence and after a few minutes letatr a looped pass was floated to him for him to sting the arms of the arsenal shot stopper, all this time the crowd was doing more harm as the tomenting atmosphere did not help the gunners settle and once an arsenal player was on the ball the noise was deafening, but in the end they surpassed the noises and they tried finding their traditional passing game.
alexis preparing for warm up

Alexis had some moment of brilliance and he was a joy to watch once he was talking besiktas defence, up to now where he will be deployed  isn’t clear, we wait on Walcot imminent return to verify that, Giroud had a wonderful pass from sanchez to convert it in but he squandered the chance to put arsenal ahead maybe he is not in the yet in the right shape but the manager showed patience in him to complete the game as he continued marshallinfg their defence throuhgt the evening but a times his touches were poor.

sanchez
Chamberlain coming in later to replace sanchez breathed life into the arsenal side and at the dying minutes he danced his way through the defence and had rasping shot that save for the post the scoreline would have read otherwise.
At the end the result panned out to be 0-0 but an way goal would have been nice on Arsenal side, but the Turkish side have the away advantage if they will have a goal at the emirates come the return fixture.
The pitch was not in good standard and sending off ramsey with ten minutes to go even after it seemed to be a 50-50 sitation in both yellow card attributed to him, the first yellow for example he was returning the favour of his shirt being pulled, he did exactly what had been done to him and it was rather a soft one in the end Arsenal were able to hold and they didn’t looked perturbed even for a second with the sending of Rambo

 Later the manager said:
"A difficult game played at a frenetic pace throughout. We could have won it but they had chances as well. In the end we didn't lose and hopefully we will make it at home. Both yellow cards for Aaron Ramsey are unbelievable When you see the fouls they have made today it's not serious. Just not serious."

The gunners have to be worried of players they are loosing, Gibbs is out and now Arteta in a protective boot in the end  will be worrying to the manager.

The only positives is the German Trio are back to contention for the trip to goodison Park at Saturday afternoon, and hope they will give the squad the needed spark again.
In other results of the evening

Aalborg BK 1-1 Apoel Nicosia

Lille 0-1 FC Porto

NK Maribor 1-1 Celtic

Slovan Bratislava 1-1 BATE Borisov

Standard Liège 0-1 Zenit St Petersburg

Besiktas 0-0 Arsenal

FC Copenhagen 2-3 Bayer 04 Leverkusen

FC Red Bull Salzburg 2-1 Malmö FF

Napoli 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Steaua Bucharest 1-0 Ludogorets Razgrad

Next seven days is vital for all the teams to be in the final group stages to participate in Europe most adored competition.

THE MOI UNIVERSITY RUINS

Stepping at the compound of Moi University Main Campus, one will not pass without noticing thewell-trimmed flowers all-round the corners, but have you ever once noticed the unfinished structure in front of the admiration block?if so have you ever stopped to ask  yourself why it has never been completed?

Well this questions lingered through my mind and right away I sought out to find answers, upon asking some personnel in the admiration block, it was confirmed to me that it was initially meant to be a graduation square and the unfinished structure would serve as the place where the invited  guests would be sited, this information in the first place made a lot of question start streaming through my head again and I wanted to know why a very strategic place like that wouldn’t serve asour graduation square?
The answers I got from various people concerned was the same, first of all the space would never be enough to accommodate the entire population usually witnessed during such vital event and secondly is that the process was halted due to the security of the university’s administration block, because with that event taking place so close to the administration premises it would never guarantee the safety of the vital documents inside the most important building in the compound.
Truth to that the answers were completely genuine but one can take that information with the slightest pinch of salt, first of all there was a committee that sat down to decide on its construction and they knew clearly the space required to accommodate the huge crowd seen in graduation ceremonies and also they were aware of the nose and mouth distance between it and the administration block, so if some asked themselves such question why was the plan underway and knowing in the end it would never live to  its expectation
This way one ask him/herself many more question did someone fail to play his/her role or even worse did someone pocket the money and came to public with space and security reason, evidently there are some buildings in the compound that have taken ages to be completed, say hostel M for example and hostel I which has never even gone beyond its foundation for decades, can we attribute the same obstacles for their slow construction process
Well fair play to the concerned personnel  the university has in place a spacious ground a bit far from the admistration block this way answers have been given to some question, but are their possibility  of seeing half constructed building again in the near future?
