UNUSUAL DOWNPOURS

They say rain is a blessing from above, but of late we’ve experienced the downpours in enormous amounts that it has turned to be the horror of the aforementioned blessing to an extend that one still wonders if it’s the so called la benediction de dieu. The rain has been pouring non-stop that it’s turned out to be hazardous even to their beloved ones; the farmers, because the crops have been on the receiving end of this harsh treatment from the rain.

Not even  mentioning that we the human being have not been spared also, here in the main campus the students who live around stage and beyond can attest that the mud experienced right now is unbearable that it usually gives one the look of a farmer right away from the farm, immediately they step into the well tarmacked roads of Moi University.

The ice coldness experienced nowadays has seen the number of students that were taking at least a shower once per day tremendously reduce, the reason to that am yet to find out since in my entire life I have never come across someone who has lost his/her life after taking a cold shower.

All the same we can’t keep on lamenting on the adverse effects of this natural disaster because clearly we have little control over it and try to find means of coping up with it, though some measures taken by campus set of late have students has been wanting whereby some opt to live their beloved rooms to go and pitch comp at their friends places with the reason of fighting the coldness together.
The adverse effects  of these rains  went over boards when one day while after feeling hungry and wanting to give the stomach its rights, I waited for the rain to cool for to rush to my favourite sakati to have some chafua, upon arriving at that place is when it downed on me that the whole little iron sheets premises had been drowned in water, one can guess how a hustler can be when subjected to such torture of going to such for much expensive and as if that was enough upon return to the university I lost count of how many hours I stayed inside the bus waiting for the rains to seize, am careful also not to mentioned the number of  times I have been the victim of force of gravity due to slippery grounds.

All in all the rain seem to be here to stay this time round and it will not be living any time soon, until when the sun will fully come back to scotch on us so as we start again complaining of the excess heat again, will be benefiting on the two hours given daily to enjoy the privilege of the sun until then will have to search for means to cope up with this extreme cold.
