An
innocent flower pot broken into several pieces on the
entrance of Moi University Margaret Thatcher left evidences of what the angry
Mob of Third years of the whole institution at large had caused upon hearing
that they will be subjected to another long holiday immediately after
completion of the current semester.
This
came after the aftermath of a social media ‘Facebook’ post by Grace Musau From
the famous information source ‘The Third Eye’ that stated, the third years will
be Again be heading for another Three months at home at the expense of the
Imminent incoming of the first years .
Personally
I didn’t have the slightest ideas because during the morning hours nothing had
come up, but how can news spread like fire in a forest? the next thing I had were sirens and
immediately the lab technician was ordering everyone out of the computer
laboratory not given anyone a chance to
log out from our beloved social sites account putting into consideration how
vulnerable it can be to the party that leaves his/her account minus logging
out, I was once a victim whereby a con used my account pretending to be me and
thus extorting people there money by asking for large sum of money promising to
return the day after with some enormous interest on top, the next thing that
happened is history…

to matter of the day ,outside the information sciences school was one colleague
who was being ruthlessly beaten by the mob, the reason being he tried to record
the whole event, the repercussion of that is that all phones were returned to
the pockets not to serve as the next victim, without further ado everyone was
obliged to follow the crowd wherever it went because the activities of the
institution were brought to a standstill, it was at this moment that comrades
were able to pass on the news of the another forthcoming long holiday again.
Somewhere
in the school of Arts, some student were seen jumping out from the tiny windows
the reason being they had refused to comply to the urgent call of stopping
their activities and start airing their grievances, stones were hauled inside
that class and it was a scary scene to behold
but luckily no one got injured from the event .
All
activities of the institution had come to a standstill and after matching up to
the school of human resource and everyone get to know what was at stake then,
it was time for the crowd to hold a huge gathering in front of the main student center and voice their discontentment because it was only at the platform of
strike that any organization can lend some ears to its unsatisfied members.
It
was at that moment that the so called campus politicians and aspirants wanted
to sell their CVs and for sure all of them wanted to share the grievances with
the third years lot, and what a suitable stage it was to bring oneself to the
light because at that moment thousands of eyes were on you, but the voice was
one, if the bed spaces aren’t enough then there is no need of bringing the
first years at the expense of the third years who were by then just reported
from a very long holiday.
Luckily
a representative from the administration came forward and assured the third
years they will not be going back to another holiday and all that news before
was just a rumor, the crowd seemed to be discontent and wanted valid reasons
to support that even after the it appeared it had been put down on ink and
stamped. One was now beginning to wonder what would it take to make them
believe it was true but one can never argue against these one force of nature
that actually had the trick to make people disperse: HUNGER, it was that time
of the day that the stomachs were seriously demanding for its refill rights and
one by one people started dispersing to their respective rooms to attend to
this series call
In
the end the students had taken the information with a slight pinch of salt and
now everyone is keen to know what the next step will be because statically
speaking the fore mention number of the incoming freshers which is said to be
around 7000 is just enough to occupy all the bed spaces not even mentioning the
third years whom they have been assured they will still be surely on session and the fourth years who already know that they have the only the
remaining semester to finish their four year if at all they were four years to
complete their studies, so it’s realistic when one says the space will be
scarce in the compound and a lot of lingering questions hanging in everyone
head are still to be answered, the next
step the university will take is so crucial and a lot of stun decisions will
have to be made whoever will be affected isn’t clear at the moment but what
they say out there is that some group will be in tears come the end of the
semester, will it be the third years to be subjected to another long holiday or
the incoming first years will have to
put on hold their ecstasy of joking a university for the next three months, or
even someone may decide it’s the fourth years to be the sacrificial lamb, all
that will be answered in their future, right now everything is back to normal
and everything appearing to run smoothly.
